Plastic straws have long been among the top three types of marine debris globally. However, even with widely used reusable eco friendly straws, there remain hidden concerns. Therefore, Wonder Greener decided to utilize the hollow characteristics of the aquatic bulrush plant as an action solution to help achieve net-zero goals.

What sets bulrush straws apart from other eco-friendly straws is their composition - they consist solely of bulrush, an aquatic plant with hollow stems. In particular, the process of their cultivation emphasizes eco-friendly farming practices without any addition of chemicals, such as PFAS, adhesives, or bleaches. Moreover, the recycling process does not generate any environmental pollution.

Wonder Greener is committed to building a business model linking farmers and restaurateurs. For example, since 2020, it has been encouraging companies to adopt bulrush fields, successfully reclaiming 10 hectares of abandoned land as carbon-negative straw fields, and providing stable income to contract farmers.

Additionally, it selects high-quality sheltered workshops, ensuring job opportunities for people with disabilities.
Currently, Wonder Greener has attracted more than a thousand Taiwanese restaurant owners to adopt them over the past three years, replacing a cumulative total of 6 million plastic straws. Wonder Greener is in the midst of applying for verification from Verra, the world's largest carbon credit certification organization, in the hope of truly creating an undeniable sustainable impact.
