During the event, various sustainable selections from the 30 chosen items were ingredients into the dishes, including "oil millet" from the indigenous tribes in Taitung, recreating a unique Taiwanese crop that disappeared for nearly half a century; "grouper and milkfish" from the fish farms in Beimen, Tainan, promoting "On-Site Renewable Energy of Aquaculture" in fishery-solar symbiosis; non-toxic red beans from Donggang, Pingtung, helping save eagles; white rice from Wufeng, Taichung, protecting the black-winged kite through friendly paddy fields; and water reed straws made from reeds grown along the Yuli River in Hualien, biodegradable and eco-friendly. These ingredients were skillfully presented by the chef of #VAN Oriental Modern Teppanyaki, blending delicious flavors with sustainable concepts. We witnessed and honored the creativity and achievements brought by sustainable actions and solutions from all over Taiwan.
